Dr. Janapada S. Balaji is a folklorist, cultural activist, and youth organiser from Karnataka dedicated to the preservation, documentation, and promotion of folk traditions and artists.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮೂಲದ ಬಾಲಾಜಿ ಅವರು ಗ್ರಾಮೀಣ ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ, ಜನಪದ ಪರಂಪರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಕಲೆಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಾಲ್ಯದಿಂದಲೇ ಆಸಕ್ತಿ ಬೆಳೆಸಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಜನಪದ ಕಲೆಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕಲಾವಿದರ ಬದುಕು ಉಳಿಯಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಅವರು ಕಾರ್ಯಾರಂಭ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

Born in Bengaluru, he developed a deep interest in rural traditions and folklore early in life. His vision focuses on safeguarding intangible cultural heritage and sustaining the livelihoods of folk artists.
